women in black opening scene analysis

shot showing all three girls having a tea party with there dolls the props in this scene show the timeline which is 19th century we can also tell this by the dolls and the pram in the background the music played throughout this scene is a music box which plays for all of the scene the clothes the girls are wearing are also authentic and accurate to the 19th century at this point the point of possible possession comes in as the girls look in the corner the camera changes to a first person view making the girls look tiny most likely from the view of the ghost at this point the girls become synchronised the slowly walk to the window with extreme low shots of them stepping on there dolls smashing their heads to pieces which is quite powerful as these were probably there most favoured possessions  the final shot is of them slowly opening the window and then jump out of it still synchronied perhaps showing they are possessed by the same spirit? the music gets louder and louder and then stops to the girls mother screaming "my baby’s!" as they have just from what she has seen committed suicide the mothers screaming adds much more sadness to the seen as many people watching could be mothers and fathers which would obviously be a chilling thought for them but it leaves the viewer with a question who is the ghost? and why did she do this?
