the colour in this poster shows that the world these two characters are living in is very bleak we can tell this by the dark cover the centre of the poster is taken up by the possible villain of the film giving the viewer a chilling stare behind him is the investigator in a dark suit adding to the darkness of the poster accompanied by a line saying "how do you stop a killer behind bars?" giving the viewer the hint of the plot of the story we also have star marketing with the names of two actors in white writing underneath making them stick out and finally behind both the characters is a city but exploding perhaps hinting at what this killer wants to do?

again in this poster we have star marketing showing that Daniel Ratcliffe is in the film in the top right of the poster which is empty other than his name in bright white writing we have a very dark theme with the entire background being dark black showing the darkness of the plot which is accompanied by a question"do you believe in ghosts?" showing us the bases that this is a ghost story along with the distorted face of a women behind the question
